The redesigned VinFast presents a future where technology, sustainability, and innovation work together to create smarter living. Through the refreshed identity, I used design to communicate clarity, safety, and modernity, reflecting VinFast’s mission to make smart, ecofriendly vehicles accessible to all. The brand invites people to help shape a more sustainable future.
CHALLENGE
VinFast entered the EV market with speed and ambition, but without a clearly differentiated story, at a time when the global EV industry is shifting from “new technology” to trusted, long term mobility ecosystems. The category’s rapid saturation, consumer uncertainty around new EV brands, and rising expectations for seamless digital experiences created a branding gap.
The challenge was to articulate:
• how VinFast can earn trust as a new player in a trust driven category
• how it can define a future mobility identity, not just an EV identity
• how its strengths (speed, accessibility, global ambition) translate into meaningful consumer value
• how design can express a mobility philosophy people believe in
APPROACH
I began by analyzing category trends, charging anxiety, digital ecosystems becoming as important as the vehicles, and the shift from standalone cars to connected mobility platforms. From there, I mapped VinFast’s strongest opportunities: accessibility, rapid rollout, and a global minded vision that most new EV companies can’t claim.
My approach reframed VinFast from “a new EV carmaker” to a future mobility brand:
• positioning comfort, digital integration, and the driving experience as part of a larger ecosystem
• emphasizing intelligence, fluidity, and movement across the visual system
• shaping a perspective that feels global, optimistic, and forward moving
